RetroPro Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
RetroPro is developed by Hürcan Yılmazer. This policy explains how RetroPro handles information when you use its camera, effects, media imports, presets and nearby multiplayer features.
Camera, microphone and imported media
RetroPro accesses your camera and microphone, with your permission, to provide camera previews and record video, photographs and audio.
Media you choose to import is processed on your device to apply effects and create recordings. RetroPro does not upload your camera footage, microphone recordings or imported media to a developer-operated server.
The app may retain local copies of imported media and overlay assets so its features can work.
LiDAR and TrueDepth
On compatible devices, RetroPro uses LiDAR or TrueDepth information to create depth-based visual effects.
This information is processed on your device. RetroPro does not use it for identifying people, authenticating users, advertising or creating facial identity profiles. It is not sent to the developer.
Depth-based imagery may appear in recordings you choose to save or share.
Photos and files
RetroPro uses the access you grant to import selected media and save your creations to Photos or Files.
Saved media may be backed up or synchronised by iCloud or another storage provider according to your device settings. Those services operate under their own privacy policies.
Settings and presets
Camera settings, effect settings and saved presets are stored locally on your device.
When you export a preset as a file or QR image, it includes the preset settings and may include a name you enter. Anyone receiving that file or image may read, import or share its contents.
Sharing takes place through the system share sheet and the service you select. Avoid including private information in preset or creator names.
Nearby multiplayer
Nearby multiplayer uses local networking to connect participating devices. It exchanges information needed to run the game, including player names, connection information and game actions.
This feature does not require a developer-operated internet game server. Your selected player name is visible to the other player.
Advertising, tracking and accounts
The current version of RetroPro does not require a RetroPro account and does not include advertising, advertising tracking or marketing analytics.
RetroPro does not sell your personal information.
Development versions may connect to Expo and a development computer to load the app. This is separate from the on-device processing of camera footage and effects.
Purchases
Subscriptions and in-app purchasing are not enabled in the current development version.
This policy will be updated before purchasing is introduced to explain any additional processing of purchase and subscription information.
External websites and services
If you open an external link, such as Instagram, the RetroPro website or Apple’s subscription settings, the external service may process information under its own privacy policy.
This policy describes the RetroPro app. Website cookies, hosting services and website analytics are covered by the relevant website privacy and cookie notices.
Contacting the developer
If you contact the developer, the information you choose to provide—such as your name, contact details, messages or example recordings—may be used to answer your enquiry, investigate an issue or respond to a privacy request.
Please send only information needed for your enquiry. Contact messages are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry and meet applicable legal obligations.
Storage and deletion
Settings, presets and app-local assets may remain on your device until removed through the app, cleared by the operating system or deleted when you delete the app. Temporary files and caches may be removed automatically.
Deleting RetroPro does not delete recordings saved to Photos or Files, device backups, or copies already shared with other people. You can manage those separately through the relevant app or service.
The developer cannot remotely access or delete media that remains solely on your device.
Permissions and your choices
You can change or withdraw camera, microphone, Photos and Local Network permissions through iOS Settings. Features requiring a permission may stop working when that permission is withdrawn.
You can choose whether to import media, share recordings or presets, use nearby multiplayer, or contact the developer.
Where applicable, you may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information held by the developer, and exercise other rights available under data-protection law. Contact the developer using the details below. You may also raise a concern with your local data-protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when RetroPro’s features or data-handling practices change. The latest version will be available on this page and the “Last updated” date will be revised.
